A REPORT ON THE UNIFORMS
from the “Uniform Committee”

The uniforms finally arrived in children’s town on the 28th August, 2009, this time our children were on holiday. Immediately, the stores committee was tasked to count all that was received.  After the counting was done a committee was established to look at how and when the distribution will be done.
The committee reported to the management committee on how they will proceed, it was agreed that, the uniforms will be given according to classes and colors, and that they should be given one week after the schools opened, this was to accommodate those who were going to come late and the day happened to be Friday the 11th of September after the morning assembly which normally starts from 07:30hrs to 08hrs, to go up to 12hrs.

It was also agreed that some uniforms will be kept and given out next year1st week of May 2010, what will remain will be sold to raise money to support the school in various needs.
It was also agreed that the Community Parent Committee (CPC) representing children coming from 348 villages surrounding the school be invited to witness and eventually hand over the uniforms to the children.
A program for the day was made. At 8hrs children assembled in the Dinning hall where we had three speeches coming from the Project Leader (Mr. Imasiku Sitali), the school pupil Sandra Siyuwa, representing fellow pupils and lastly the CPC Chairman Mr. Amos Kaluka representing the community.

All the speeches were centered on thanking the family that donated the uniforms as the CPC chairman said this has never happened in the last 18 years since the school was established and that the children should keep them well. In between the speeches a school choirs was giving us nice songs.

The time of giving the uniforms came and we started with the Pre School and latter all pupils were told to go to their respective classes where the class teachers will be giving the uniforms. And that later all the children and staff will meet for group photos.

We therefore are thanking the family that has made this big donation to all the pupils.
The parents of the children from the community have been coming to school to say thank..

Thank you! Thank you! Thank you!
