1.5 million pounds of clothing in 2009 = 50 container full

The aim is to: Reduce the amount of garbage in the Ontario landfills and to reuse the donated clothing

Planet Aid Canada, Inc. is a non-profit organization collecting used clothing in the GTA.

Out aim is to reduce the amount of garbage in the Ontario landfills and to reuse the donated clothing But also to create jobs and support programs in Africa (Zambia)

During the last 2 years we have placed 200 bins in the city - mostly in high-rise buildings.

The clothes are sold as “original” clothes to

§         Local Customers. The clothes are sorted and sold in thrift stores in Toronto.

§         Customers in Canada &  USA: The clothes are shipped in containers to North Africa or other parts of the world.

Planet Aid Canada is paid by the pound.

The first year most of the money earned was spend on setting up the operation: Buying the donations bins and paying a contractor for picking up the clothes on a weekly basic.

In the first year we also manage to send a $15.000 value in-kind donation to Children’s Town in Zambia.

In the 2nd year more locations were found, and we invested in more donations bins.

We have reduced and reused 1.5 million pounds of clothing in 2009 = 50 big container full.
The 2nd year we also manager to send a $70.000 in-kind donation to Zambia.
